What Does Being Born Again Mean?

Sometimes you hear people say, I am born again, meaning that they have accepted Jesus

Christ as their Lord and personal Savior; but being born again means much more. It’s not a one-moment occurrence. As our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says, It begins with moments and continues with moments of surrendering to God. Many Christians would resist and deny the truth that our Lord, when He was in the flesh on earth, was being born again and was going through the process of regeneration. Remember, He became poor that we might become rich; He took on sinful flesh and purified Himself . He said, Ye who have followed me in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of His glory, he also shall sit upon twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel-shall receive great power.

And Paul describes the new birth as putting off the old man and putting on the new man who after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Christian Science is here to show how this is done.

Let me make it crystal clear. Jesus did not sin but took on our sinful nature. Our lord said, Deny yourself, take up the cross and follow me. He did precisely that. Jesus showed us the way to glory. He is our model, our way-shower. There is no other way to attain perfection other than the way He trod. We must overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil(evil) as He did, and He promised that the Spirit of Truth or the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of the Father, would help us. Oh, bless His holy name!
