Christian Science teaches that Father-Mother is the name for Deity, which indicates His tender relationship to His spiritual creation, man and the universe; that we are in Him; that He loves us with everlasting love; and that He never afflicts us.
No one has ever seen God, but Jesus said that those who had seen Him had seen the Father, meaning that the holiness, wisdom, power, peace, love, and joy that He demonstrated were from God for God is Spirit everywhere present. We cannot see God with our physical senses but when we begin to do His will by following Jesus Christ, we begin to discern His presence and saving grace. We receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God-our redemption from sin, disease, and death.
God is the great I AM; the all-knowing, all-seeing. all-acting,all-wise all-loving, and eternal; Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth: Love; all substance; all intelligence. This Science teaches man that God is the only Life, and that this Life is Truth and Love: that God is to be UNDERSTOOD, ADORED, and DEMONSTRATED. (Ibid., P472)
