There is a chapter entitled Fruitage in the textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures which relates numerous cases of people being healed just by reading the book, not to mention the thousands of well-documented cases that have been cited in books and articles published by our Publishing
Society.
Christian Scientists understand that this Science of healing that Jesus left us is the truth that heals when it is understood and practiced. Jesus gave us the true understanding of God and man, and it is the knowing of this truth that heals. It helps us to see through the spurious claims of mortal mind or the minds of mortals and to destroy them with Truth. Right where and when we see people in strife and contention, right there instead are God’s children all governed by the Mind of Christ.
When we see the picture of a sick man, we turn away from it and see him as God sees him in
perfect health and harmony, despite the appearance to the contrary. The Leader and Founder of Christian Science tell us that this is the way Jesus healed. On page 476:32-2 of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures she writes, Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man who appeared to Him where sinful mortal man appeared to mortals. In this perfect man, the Savior saw God’s own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick. In Science, we are asked not to condemn but to heal, as Jesus commanded us.
